Many of you will already know John Wilkins. You may well have seen him at his stall in the reception of Bristol Children’s Hospital where he volunteers most days recruiting brave souls for The Grand Appeal skydives!

This April John celebrated his 80th birthday, but instead of sitting back and putting his feet up, he joined another 79 daredevils in a mass skydive to raise over £30,000 for the Cots for Tots Appeal! - Check out the video if you need proof of this incredible achievement…

The feat is made even more extraordinary as John had just completed a three month course of radiotherapy treatment, following a recent diagnosis for prostate cancer.

He’s been volunteering for us for almost 10 years and has raised a phenomenal £160,000 for Bristol Children’s Hospital & Special Care Baby Unit taking on a series of daring stunts including skydiving, abseiling and a zip slide across Avon Gorge. John is an inspriration to all of us and we are so grateful for his amazing hard work, dedication and unstoppable determination.

On September 10th 2011 John will be jumping again(!) to raise money for the Cots for Tots Appeal and you can join him. Give us a call on 0800 919 649 or email leo@grandappeal.org.uk for more information
